Art Book Club
During this OMAM Art Book Club happy hour gathering, we'll discuss The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver, a novel following the life of a fictional Mexican-American writer as he navigates 20th-century events, including his connections to Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Leon Trotsky, and his later investigation during the McCarthy era in the U.S. Told through his journals, the book explores themes of identity, art, revolution, and the gap between public perception and truth.
RSVPs are encouraged as refreshments will be provided. This program is included with museum admission, but is completely FREE for current OMAM members and US veterans. Come early to explore the exhibits, gift shop and gardens! Click HERE to RSVP.
ABOUT THE CLUB
Sponsored by The OMAM Guild (but open to ALL), this club meets approximately every six weeks inside the museum to discuss a selected art-themed book in a welcoming atmosphere — refreshments provided. Members are encouraged to suggest future titles, helping curate a dynamic reading list focused on artists’ lives, art history, historical fiction, and stories that illuminate the creative spirit.
