About The Council
The Council of Garden Clubs of the Halifax District, Inc. was established in 1948 and has always been a vital force in the beautification of the greater Daytona Beach area. With a commitment to community service and stewardship of public parks, today the council enjoys an established partnership with the Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens (OMAM) as its home. Together, its member clubs — Cherry Laurel Garden Club and South Peninsula Garden Club — work with OMAM to educate the public by offering classes, programs and events that encourage knowledge and a love of gardening, floral design and horticulture, as well as promote environmental conservation and city beautification.
About OMAM
Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens was founded in 1946 with a mission to inspire the community through art and nature while honoring those who fought for freedom. Now celebrating its 80th Anniversary, OMAM continues to embrace its mission with outreach programming for youth and veterans, creative and environmental education for all ages, and art exhibitions featuring local, national, and internationally acclaimed artists. The museum and gardens are located at 78 E. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, and anchor the beachside Ormond Arts District. The museum galleries and gift shop are open Monday-Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday, noon to 4 pm. The gardens are accessible, daily, from sunrise to sunset. Admission is by donation and is free for museum members and U.S. veterans.
