Once Upon A Time: The 1940s

The OMAM Guild's Inaugural Fundraising Event

A one-of-a-kind celebration bringing the sights, sounds, and spirit of the 1940s to life!

This five-week, interactive experience honors the transformative era through art, fashion, collectibles, and performance — all while raising critical funds to support the museum's mission

Our "Once Upon A Time: The 1940s" auction is open! This incredible selection of items are all available all at a discount and for a good cause! Funds raised from the auction directly support our exhibitions and programs. All bidding can be done right through your phone, tablet or computer. Have fun and bid high!

Registration does require entering a credit card number, but your card will not be charged unless you are the winning bidder, and no numbers are kept on file after the event. The auction will close at 6:30pm November 15. Winning items can be picked up inside the museum at the conclusion of the Grand Finale event.


 

Grand Finale + Edith Head Fashion Experience 

Saturday, Nov. 15

5:00-9:00pm

This closing event will be a theatrical presentation of 1940s fashion emceed by actress Susan Claassen as legendary Hollywood costume designer Edith Head. Wearing Dior, Chanel and more, models will bring period fashion to life — from smart daywear to military uniforms to glamorous gowns.

Veterans Day Tribute

Join us under the big tent in the OMAM parking lot as we pay tribute to those who defend our freedom. This year our Veterans Day Tribute will be formatted as a USO-style show incorporating music, dance, comedy, special guests, and more!

Opening Party + Rick's on the Rooftop

Saturday, Oct. 11

5:00-9:00pm

Inspired by the film Casablanca, this kick-off event will feature 1940s themed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, plus vintage fashion and a tribute to the Greatest Generation. Step into the romantic atmosphere of our re-created Rick's Café Américain as the party moves upstairs to the rooftop terrace for dancing and live music.
