OMAM Art Book Club
Celebrating 80 Years of Creative Freedom
In honor of OMAM’s 80th Anniversary, we are pleased to introduce the OMAM Art Book Club — a new opportunity to explore the enduring power of art through literature and shared conversation. Founded in 1946 as a tribute to creative freedom and those who fought to protect it, OMAM has long been a place where art inspires reflection and connection.
The Art Book Club extends that mission beyond the gallery walls, offering another meaningful way to engage with artistic legacy.
Sponsored by The Guild (but open to ALL), the club will meet approximately every six weeks at OMAM to discuss a selected art-themed book in a welcoming atmosphere — refreshments provided. Members are encouraged to suggest future titles, helping curate a dynamic reading list focused on artists’ lives, art history, historical fiction, and stories that illuminate the creative spirit.
Our inaugural selection is The Secret Life of Sunflowers by Marta Molnar — a richly imagined novel inspired by Vincent van Gogh and the women who influenced his artistic legacy. It is a fitting beginning as we celebrate 80 years of art that transcends time and voices that continue to inspire.
We invite you to join us as we turn the page on this exciting new chapter at OMAM — honoring our past while celebrating the creative freedom that shapes our future!
