Melody Orser

Pop-Up Exhibit - Reception Gallery: Feb. 6-8, 2026

Meet the Artist!

Gallery Talk: Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 | 5:00pm

Ten of Melody Orser's "Wild Florida" pieces will be on display and for sale inside our reception gallery February 6-8. You can meet the artist during the February 7th First Saturday Ormond Art Walk between 3:00 and 7:00pm at OMAM. During that special event, Orser will give a talk at 5:00pm providing insight her process.

“My work is greatly inspired by light. From a glimmer on the surface of water, to dappled light pouring through waves, to the brilliant glow of golden hour, light breathes life in nature and on the canvas. In this talk, I’ll share how I use saturated hues, strong contrast, and layered acrylic techniques to capture the essence of that light and how I use it to illuminate the beauty of wild Florida.”

Admission to Art Walk is always FREE, and you can ride the complimentary shuttle to visit all stops. Beer and wine will be available for purchase inside the museum.

Artist Statement:

"Through the use of vibrant color and contrast, each painting is a snapshot of nature that feels familiar but remains wild. Whether this state has been your home for years or just a place you admire, this collection is an invitation to pause and see Florida with fresh eyes."

Artist Biography:

"Creating art has always been the way I slow down and really notice the world around me. My first ever official piece was titled “My Mommy” and done in crayon for a preschool gallery. I’ve come a long way since then, but the wonder and joy in creating has never left. Painting gives me a way to hold onto moments or things I find to be beautiful and share them with others, hoping they see and appreciate it, too! My work is rooted in my love for nature, my longing for the nostalgic, and my faith in God. These roots shape the way I see the world and translate it into my art. I’m drawn to vibrant color and strong contrast, because they help me showcase the depth and richness built into creation. My goal is always the same… to invite people to pause, be drawn in, and see the world through another lens. If we never get the chance to meet face to face, I hope my work will leave you with a message of beauty and hope that is imprinted from my heart to yours."
