As in a vision, God is here shown viewing Calvary. It is the great psychical moment of His existence. He who is so great that even the dead bodies bow before Him, being all Spirit, only can face the tragedy. The Angels cover their faces with their hands. Death bows before the throne begging forgiveness. So God suffered more than Seraphs and Angels could look upon that He might re-establish the life He first created. The great Power in Nature, the Central Intelligence, God, has but one object, the perfecting of life, so there shall be no separation. To attain this end He has, and if necessary He will suffer again such agony that Angels are not powerful enough to view it and live.

World Peace–about which millions are talking and for which millions are praying for God to bring about in some mysterious manner, will never be a reality until individuals realize fully that it must start with them. 

God or Spirit is the great creative or constructive Agent while physical man is the destructive agent. 

When man finally realizes that he must work in harmony with God’s unchanging laws, then and only then, can he truthfully say: “He leadeth me beside the still water,” and the message He whispers to my soul or Spirit is: “My peace I give unto you.”

The most definite thing in the world is Cosmic Law which has for its foundation, JUSTICE; the absolute balance of all. God is an Entity of free will under law. Of all conditions opposed to the proper production and conserving of human life, none can be less excused than that of war amongst men. The recourse to the warring spirit in man engenders finally a condition of complete debasement and selfishness opposed to the collective life humanity is now being forced into. The grip of war comes heavier upon woman, wresting from her the privilege of her sex, the bearing and rearing of children, on proper and fitting surroundings for development toward good. Possibly the one great feat of mind that stamps Christ Jesus as the master intellect was the turning of the Gold Rule from: “do not do anything to others that you would not have them do to you’’ into “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’’ Here is the outlet for the restlessness found within us all. It is the true fighting spirit, the effect of evolution toward good and the extermination of selfishness and hate, which can engender only disease and death. What is true of martial war, is also true of industrial war and can have only a regarding influence on better development of life as must any condition which opposes love for one another.

With the barriers of distance disappearing with the introduction of our modern devices of fast transportation and easy communication must come an era of closer co-operation between men and countries. What was once labor is becoming an engrossing intellectual procedure calling each day for a better mental and spiritual development, more tender care, more love, an era of building. This is PEACE.

We find ourselves to be a composite of two natures very different in the subconscious knowledge of their evolution. The Turn Of The Way

There is in parts of the East, a legend to the effect that Jesus, when He returned after completing His education as a Rabbi, intended to function as other religious teachers of Jewish Palestine usually did: confining His effort to elucidation of the early prophets in Israel; to take the position this would give Him in Jewish society, to be a help to His father Joseph in his important business as architect, builder, interior decorator, and lumber merchant of the town. However, while He was out superintending the workers in Joseph's timber lands one day, He saw the Romans loot the town, burn part of it and carry off His two sisters to be held for ransom. He had come to the "turn of the way." It was the turning point of His career, He felt something should be done to do away with the terrible conditions in which the people lived under their Roman conquerors. 

He went to see His cousin John who in the desert, was preaching against the rotten politics and immorality of the time. After talking with John He realized the value of His own education and how it fitted Him to cooperate with His Heavenly Father in building a spiritual civilization in which Security is eternal. So he was baptized by John and started on His life's mission. It was then He heard in His heart the voice saying: "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased," which eventually fruited in the ideal of a democratic form of government and the higher standards of living we enjoy today. If then we listen, as did Jesus, to the "still small voice" which comes at some time to each of us, we too will make our lives valuable to "Our Father in Heaven" and help Him build that Kingdom destined to last through all eternity.

Let There Be Light

“God said, let there be light.” The greatest words God ever spoke. These words brought into being the great energy that made possible the evolution of the simplest form of matter until it became human mammal with a brain that can think abstract thought and realize his Maker. The words formed the greatest command God gave in his plan of Creation for it opened a way for Him to occupy an intimate position in the physical. Before the time of this command all matter was inert; there was no life that could possibly evolve a creature with the qualities necessary to become a free will co-operator with God in his wish for a being who would be a friendly partner with Him through all eternity. When God said, “Let there be Light,’’ He entered matter and became a part of it, so that what had been made was now created a part of Himself. We cannot be separated from Him for has he not said: “I am the Light of the World; I am Life.” Would you know the truth? This is it; there is in Nature no death, only eternal life for Life is God.

Some people write their autobiography while others have biographies written about them after they are gone. Few if any have ever painted their own obituary. Like the other 60 paintings in this series this too is symbolic. Malcolm Fraser was a man well qualified by temperament, technical training and background to be the channel or instrument through which a series of paintings such as these could come into manifestation. He maintained an open and inquiring mind to the end of a long life full of adventure, thrills, surprises, heart aches... and achievements. He never felt that these symbolic paintings were original ideas of his own but rather that he was the instrument through which a Higher Power could portray a profound truth in pictorial form which, if fully understood, would bring about a more great men such as humility, simplicity, kindness, generosity, devotion, loyalty and obedience to the higher callings of the spirit. He was always searching for new truth, and manifestations of God's handiwork. To him the world of the spirit was as real as the physical world around him. He was a living example of the Scripture text: "As many as are led by the spirit of God they are the sons of God." To paraphrase a stanza from "The Psalm of Life" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:

Lives of great men all remind us,
We can make our lives sublime;
And departing, leave behind us,
Furrows in the sands of time.
