Garden Talk: “History of Florida’s Citrus Industry”

Joseph Sewards, Urban Horticulture Agent & Master Gardener Coordinator with UF/IFAS Extension, Volusia County, will present a talk on the History of Florida’s Citrus Industry. While citrus was not native to Florida originally, Joe will talk about how and when the industry came here and its magnitude and growth in the world. Learn about the different kinds of citrus, where they are grown in Florida, the economic impact, and the current challenges and future of citrus in Florida.
