Spirit Art Dolls with Normajean Brevik
Calling all Goddesses… We will be creating a YOU-nique doll to express your inner spirit
In this fun workshop, perfect for beginners, you will learn the basics of doll artistry, simple beading and hand embroidery stitching. Discover your own style, each art doll will be one of a kind.
Almost everything that you need will be included in your kit starting with the pre-stitched and stuffed doll body. There will be a variety of doll bodies to choose from (NO sewing machine needed). You will add decorative stitching, beading, and embellishments.
Your kit will contain: Doll body (several pre-sewn will be available to choose from), embroidery floss to coordinate with your doll, beads, a of one-of-a-kind heart embellishment, and die cut Lutradure wings. Your finished Spirit Art Doll measures appx. 9” x 8”. For the health safety of all, the teacher asks that students wear a mask in class regardless of vaccination status.
Students are responsible for bringing the following to class:
1. Small scissors for cutting threads and fabric
2. Beading Mat or small cloth or hand towel to place beads on
3. Sewing and Embroidery Needles - My personal choice is to buy a package of needles that includes embroidery needles along with a variety of other size needles for beading and stitching “Dritz Assorted Hand Craft Needles 25-piece assortment” is a good choice and sells at JoAnn’s for $3.99 full price but there are always coupon offers for much less.

About the Instructor:
Normajean Brevik is a fiber and mixed media artist/author whose primary objective is to discover and explore products and supplies and use them in new and inventive ways in the creation of art projects. She shares these discoveries in publications, lectures, and class offerings. She writes for several publishers on their product and project development. Her work has been published in hundreds of articles in books, magazines, online, and a TV appearance. She has taught at the Rhode Island School of Design by special appointment and many online and in person classes. She’s currently the local Florida Pod 4 (Volusia and Flagler County Region) leader for Studio Arts Quilts Associates (SAQA)
