Art of Healing: Drawing the Breath

patients, caregivers and survivors can all benefit from self-expression.
Relax into the here and now during this mindful workshop, as we bring our awareness to the breath during a short guided meditation and then create a piece of artwork inspired by this animating force of life. Bringing focus to the breath can calm the mind and body, reduce anxieties and bring clarity to the present moment. We’ll use meditative drawing and painting techniques to tap into this calm state of mind and transform inhaling and exhaling from the basic components of life to the basic components of our art. Mimicking the simplicity and variation of the breath, we’ll use wax lines and watercolor washes to create a quiet, abstract reflection of the self on paper. All supplies provided and no art experience is needed. Open to participant 16 & older.
