Quiet Light
The Art of Sara Pedigo
Reception Gallery: April 23-August 2, 2026
The creation of my paintings begins with observation — a sustained practice of attention-giving and beauty-seeking. I am drawn to fleeting states of light and subtle shifts in color, moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Light, an essential condition for life, shapes every experience: it is the arbiter of color, form, space, and memory. My paintings develop slowly, accumulating over weeks and months as I record what surrounds me. It is through careful watching that these qualities reveal themselves and emerge in the form of mark, value, and color. I record the complexity of my surroundings, a conscious effort to remain present in the world. In this way, the work becomes a testament to observation itself
