Work by Robert Shannon Turley will be on display and for sale inside our reception gallery during the First Saturday Ormond Art Walk on September 5. The plein air landscape artist is also a musician and plans to play guitar during the Art Walk accompanied by flutist Myra Wooden. Be sure to arrive by 5:00pm for Rob's gallery talk!

Malcolm Fraser Collection: Images of Women

Reception Gallery: August 6 – October 4, 2026

This curated selection of works from the Fraser collection focuses on images of women from the biblical stories of Eve and the Fall to that of Mary and the birth of Jesus, and on to images of Christian salvation juxtaposed with morality teachings about vanity, pride, and clinging to earthly belongings. Finally, Fraser acknowledged the changing role of women in 20th Century society and painted a powerful image of a woman breaking free of the chains of patriarchy that had enslaved her for so long. In total, a look at how Malcolm Fraser painted women in his works reveals an astute man contemplating women and their overriding significance to mankind both physically and spiritually throughout time. And, in so doing, he was also a man of his time, reflecting the rapidly changing role of women in society during the last century.
