an documents the times we live in\, putting into visual language the thing
s that people feel. One of her biggest artistic challenges is deciding wha
t her next work will be. She has to have an idea to start with. In this ar
tist talk\, she’ll take the audience through her stages of creating a piec
e of art.\n\nIn Clare’s words\, “The ideas are everywhere\, in front of my
eyes and brain. The brain extracts a story from sight\, sound and textur
 e. It can be something as common as a cool\, damp forest floor covered in
layers of rotting leaves\, decomposing branches\, bugs and microbes. I he
ar but don’t see the sound of a cool stream. This might lead to another th
ought—how hot the parking lot will be when I emerge from the forest. A com
posite image may form in my head of combining these three things\, and the
 n I have my idea for a painting.”\n\nWith this artist’s talk\, Clare Radig
an hopes to inspire people with her creative process\, so that they can mo
ve forward with whatever project they are tackling-whether it’s visual art
or writing or designing something.\n\nAdmission to this Artist Talk is fr
