X-WR-CALDESC:Create <strong>three</strong> Vitra Fossils of leaves from the
OMAM Gardens in this unique workshop and learn their botanical names. \n
\nVitra Fossil (often called fossil vitra) is a kiln-formed fused glass ar
t technique. Artists place real organic materials—such as leaves\, ferns\,
or flower petals—under or between sheets of glass\, coat them in powdered
glass or frit\, and fire them in a kiln. The intense heat burns away the
plant material entirely\, leaving behind a permanent\, detailed glass impr
int or 'fossil' of the plant's shape and veins. Vitra is a word that refer
s to glass. So\, basically one creates an artificial imprint fossil in gla
ss. A sifter will be used to apply the glass powder with a very special te
chnique. \n\n<strong>All of the materials will be provided.</strong> Anyti
me you are using glass powders we suggest wearing a mask\, which will be p
rovided. LC and Tommy will fire the artwork created in class\, and it will
be available for pickup about a week later. Participants will receive an
 email when it’s ready.\n\n<span style='color:#000000\;'>$95 Current Member
