MINUTES OF CALLED MEETING, JAN. 4, 1947 A called meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Butts at 8 p.m., on Jan. 4, 1947. It was decided to proceed at once with the necessary work on a catalogue containing the titles of the Fraser pictures together with the descriptive matter now contained in the legends attached to the individual pictures and the secretary was directed to prepare the copy for the printer. Photographs of five pictures were submitted as subjects for post cards to be sold at the Gallery. Four were selected and the following persons very generously volunteered to defray the cost of same @ $15.00 per thousand. Prof. Ames, Miss Georgina Butts, Mrs. Morris & Mrs. Butts. Attention was called to the fact that according to our charter, the annual meeting of the corporation must be held on the first Tuesday of February at 8 p.m. at the Gallery. The following nominating committee was appointed by Mrs. Butts, Dr. Juniper, chairman, Mrs. John Milligan & Thos. Coyne. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Tom Coyne, Sec. FEBRUARY 2, 1947 The annual meeting of the Ormond War Memorial Art Gallery Corporation was called to order by the Pres. Mrs. Harold T. Butts at 8 p.m., in the Gallery as required by the Charter granted by the Circuit Court of Volusia County, Florida on Sept. 6, 1946. Minutes of previous meetings were read and approved. The Treasurer’s report was read and approved. The nominating Committee recommended that the same Board of Directors that had served during the period between the time the Charter was granted (Sept. 6, 1946) and the first annual meeting (Feb. 2, 1947) be elected for the following year. The motion duly made by Mrs. Milligan, and seconded, by Prof. Ames, the following persons were elected to the Board of Directors for the year ending Feb. 3, 1948. The Board of Director is as follows: Mrs. Harold Butts The motion duly made and seconded the same officers who were instrumental in bringing this project into being were duly elected to their respective offices for the year ending Feb. 3,1948. These officers are as follows - Mrs. Harold Butts, Pres., Dr. Kerrison Juniper, V. Pres., John Milligan, Treas., Tom Coyne, Sec. It was suggested that those present might be interested in having the Charter and constitution read to them and this was done. Mr. Williams, the architect presented sketches of the proposed paneling in magnolia of the Gallery lobby. These plans were approved. Attention was called to the fact that we had a charter but no By-Laws and Mrs. Butts said she would ask the City Atty. - Mr. John Graham - to draw up a set of simple By-Laws for us.
