The Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens proudly presents "Beaux Arts of Volusia: Saving Yesterday," a visual journey into the past.

Beaux Arts of Volusia, organized in 1962, is an invitational, juried group of 50 artists who work in photography, abstract and representational sculpture and painting. Each year two exhibitions are mounted: the Members' Exhibit, a straightforward expression of each artist's choice of work, and a Theme Exhibition which challenges the members to use their individual talents to work within a given theme.

Saving Yesterday is the Theme Exhibit presented here at OMAM. Beaux Arts Members were to visit the Florida Victorian Architectural Antiques store in DeLand, Florida, seeking visual images among the pieces of antiquity from which their art work must be derived. The Saving Yesterday exhibit moves you through the creative exploration of this group of diverse and innovative artists.

Museum members, artists, and their guests are invited to attend the opening reception for this exhibition on Friday, June 4, 2004, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

The Beaux Arts of Volusia present "A Gallery Talk", June 5, 2004, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Museum.  A distinguished panel of Beaux Arts of Volusia artists will discuss the conceptual, biographical, and inspirational foundations of their works.  Members and guests are welcome to join in this first-hand encounter, at no charge.
