ProArt Artists’ Exhibition

July 11- August 31, 2003

July 11, 2003 marks the opening of The Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens' next exhibition "The Story of ProArt Artists’ Work 1997-2003: A Juried Exhibition." Curated by Steve Aimone, ProArt Institute Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the exhibition is a showcase for 100 works of art by 34 artists who have participated in at least one course offered by ProArt Institute- a non-profit "university without walls"- between 1997 and the present. "The Story of ProArt Artists’ Work 1997-2003: A Juried Exhibition." runs July 11 through August 31, 2003.

"The group is representative of a small but growing sub-culture in the art world: serious, second-career artists. They produce exciting work, and this exhibition shows the richness and diversity of their talents." Says Curator Steve Aimone. "The show includes works that reference the external world (figure, landscape, still life) and others that are purely about internal or nonmaterial realities."
