THE WATERS COVERED THE FACE OF THE EARTH I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
REALIZATION
(Eve's Vision) MOTHERHOOOD
(Mary and the Babe in Egypt) FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD IT IS WELL WITH THE WORLD WHAT HAST THOU DONE FOR ME? He Leadeth Me Beside the Still Waters
"And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
"And God said 'Let there be light,' and there was LIGHT."
The source of all LIGHT is also the source of all LIFE. To have one's LIFE or SPIRIT illumined with the LIGHT OF UNDERSTANDING is to be in tune with the INFINITE.
"I am the light of the world. I am life." These words were written possibly forty-five hundred years ago, in Egypt. Ra, the Egyptians' name for the SUPREME BEING, is speaking. How long, for how much longer will man be deaf to this message given so long ago, this message that means love, and peace, health, and freedom from all care?
"And God said, Let the waters be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear." -- Genesis 1:9 Wherever protoplasm first felt the vibration of life it was atttracted toward light, as it develops it is always facing toward light, and as it becomes more and more intelligent, becomes more and more human, it not only faced the light but is found in an attitude of supplication. It prays for more and more concept of cosmic intelligence. It is developing spiritual as well as physical sight. It is on the road to knowledge, the end of which is peace and God. With a fabric woven for him by his forebears about his eyes, blinded he gropes his way along a narrow causeway, hesitating, with hands out-stretched he feels the sting of the thorns about the way but little knows of the beauty about him everywhere; or of the danger. A little of the light may filter through the bandage from time to time as some force moves the folds; but the time comes and comes quickly, when this fabric with its warp of ignorance and woof of prejudice and selfishness shall wear away and life be one long demonstration of health and love. The Flesh, uncouth, primitive, fascinated by the gold and food it holds in his hands is all unconscious of having chained to it a Spirit, who, rising despite the pain of iron cuttting into its ankle, saves the flesh from sinking and dying in the slime through which it goes. In the hand of the spirit is borne the symbol of hope and promise: the rainbow.
Filled with ennui or boredom and with no definite aim or purpose in life, man is an easy prey to temptation and all the suggestions that come from his lower self. No life is lived to the full that does not have a definite, constructive aim or purpose for its goal. In this picture the serpent does not end with the head of a snake handing some fruit to Eve, but in a hand as offering a gesture of friendship.
We do not fall by temptations we recognize as evil, but by some action disguised as a gesture of friendship.
So bound by the Serpent that no free movement is possible, and lashed to the tree, she becomes part of the Earth and subject to the laws which rule the Physical World. Unconscious of the Spirit within her, she sits bowed in the sunset awaiting darkness. The flesh without an awakened Spirit; despondent. Some one has said: "Everything was first a thought."
Eve has broken law. It is only after committal of the deed that she realizes the full result of its awfulness. The vision that comes to her is almost more than a mental conception; it is nearer a reality in its force. What a weight to carry all one's life!
If the education were more toward training the mind to comprehend definitely the logical results of action, might we not advance more rapidly to the higher mental and spiritual plane which is our destiny?
Adam, in whom the Spirit has not yet awakened, is crushed and begs for mercy. In Eve the Spirit has spoken. "The seed of the woman shall bruise the Serpent's head." And so she faces her punishment, head erect, defiant. Woman, the real age-lasting cause of Man's effort. Between them and Paradise stands the Angel of Death, sorrowfully carrying out his mission, but able to place upon his sword the rainbow colors of Hope and Promise.
He faces the woman, the duel is between these two - between the Life Giver and the Life Taker. Within Eve the Angel of Death recognizes the yet unborn life of his conqueror.
Love whispers into the ear of the sleeping woman and the dream of motherhood, over-arched by the rainbow promise, is the result of the message which is given to her.
Through love is life to be perpetuated, is the great message that comes from God to woman, of her great value in His plan to conquer death. The mother, listening to the voices which tell the future of the child, cuddles him to her with one hand, while with the other she tries, unconsciously, to shield him from the evils of the future. From then till now, from before her time till the end of the future, was always and will ever be the same mother care, mother love, beautiful ever present manifestation of the great principle of nature which lets us live. The Babe in safety sleeps.
As in a vision, God is here shown viewing Calvary. It is the great psychical moment of His existence. He who is so great that even the dead bodies bow before Him, being all Spirit, only can face the tragedy. The Angels cover their faces with their hands. Death bows before the throne begging forgiveness. So God suffered more than Seraphs and Angels could look upon that He might re-establish the life He first created. The great Power in Nature, the Central Intelligence, God, has but one object, the perfecting of life, so there shall be no separation. To attain this end He has, and if necessary He will suffer again such agony that Angels are not powerful enought to view it and live. God is seen holding the world in its allotted place. Christ supports it. The light falling from His wounded hand illuminates the World and becomes the Dove of Peace, The Comforter. Suffering over, now comes the reward, the power to perfectly Protect. The fruit of knowledge is security and peace. Here we are face to face with the Judge. The question is about us all the time, in all nature, in everything that is created. It is a simple one: "All this and more I have done for thee, and what has thou done for Me?" It is a question we all must sometime answer.
Suggesting that state of perfect peace and harmony or Kingdom of Heaven Consciousness.
World Peace - about which millions are talking and for which millions are praying for God to bring about in some mysterious manner, will never be a reality until individuals realize fully that it must start with them.
God or Spirit is the great creative or constructive Agent while physical man is the destructive agent.
When man finally realizes that he must work in harmony with God's unchanging laws, then and only then, can he truthfully say: "He leadeth me beside the still water," and the message He whispers to my Soul or Spirit is:
"My peace I give unto you."
