Public Art Timeline for the Ormond Beach Fire Department Stations

2005 – 2006

The City of Ormond Beach, Florida, is presenting a Call to Artists for exterior sculptures to be placed in front of two fire stations in 2006. The following information is the timeline of dates and public meetings that will take place to determine the selection, recommendation and installation of these art works.  All meetings will be held at Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens, 78 E. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL 32176, unless noted otherwise.

November 18, 2005
11:00 AM
Initial meeting with Ormond Beach Public Art Committee.  Criteria, site plans, timeline, assignments and brief visit to each site.
December 1, 2005 Call to Artists information placed on City website, news releases, followed by mailings to artists and sites willing to announce these opportunities.
February 17, 2006
4:00 PM
Artists' applications and materials must be received for consideration. Each submission must include slides or CD’s, all required forms, signed applications.
February 27, 2006
11:00 AM
Review of all submissions by eligible artists by Public Art Committee.
March 13, 2006
11:00 AM
Public Art Committee determination of five finalists for consideration.
March 30, 2006
11:00 AM
Selection of finalist for each fire department public art project by committee.
March 30, 2006 through
June 9, 2006
Finalists create sculptures.
Date(s) to be announced Coordinate installation with City
July through September, 2006 Dedication : dates are still tentative
