Harry Messersmith, a sculptor from Deland, Florida, began his recent interactive lecture with examples of the history and evolution of portraiture found in sculpture. |

Then he led the group on a tour through the Museum, using pieces from the current exhibition to further demonstrate his point. |

Here he is explaining the characteristics of several portraits. |

Mr. Messersmith demonstrates the process and ideas of one his own sculptures, "Angel of Thought," which appears just to his right. The sculpture is composed of cast bronze, lead, steel and polymer clay. |
